Hi! I’m and I love to cook! Years ago, I trained as a Food and Textiles teacher at Battersea. From an early age, I have collected recipes and have a huge collection cut out of magazines.

My “day job” is teaching Food (and Textiles). I know from comments made by friends and colleagues that there is a real need for quickly prepared, simple, nutritious and inexpensive meals. Many people view having to cook the family meal after a hard day at work, as a chore. The overall aim of this blog is to ease this. I’ll be sharing the recipes I use. Much as I enjoy cooking, I don’t want to spend ages preparing a meal, after a day largely spent teaching children to cook.

Cooking doesn’t have to be difficult, or time consuming. In fact, judging by the supermarket queues when people are purchasing their ready meals, it would be quicker (and cheaper) to cook at home. You also have the added advantage of knowing exactly what you are eating.

Do I always eat healthily? I would have to say “No! Not entirely”. I do try to have a balanced diet overall, but give me a box of chocolates – well, you get the picture! What do we eat? We usually have muesli for breakfast, a big salad for lunch and a simple evening meal, finished off with coffee and a piece of dark chocolate. (Thank you to the people who came up with the fact that you live five years longer if you eat a piece of dark chocolate each day!)

That’s enough about me – do try some of the recipes and let me know what you think.

Liz
